Eclipses

Between 2026 and 2028, the Iberian Peninsula will become the setting for a series of rare astronomical events. On August 12, 2026, the first total solar eclipse visible in Spain in more than a century will take place. And 2027 and 2028 will bring their own series of solar eclipses: another total eclipse on August 2, 2027, which will cover the southernmost part of the peninsula, and an annular eclipse on January 26, 2028, offering views of its distinctive “ring of fire” from the southwest of the peninsula.
