Konata reinvents the classic shonen by drawing inspiration from the indigenous tribes of the Artic regions of America
“A long time ago, our ancestors made a pact with the deities in exchange for gifts. These gifts made life easier in the frozen lands, but when the beasts of the sea arrived, the waters were tainted with their black blood.”
Today is one of the most important days in young Aki's life, as he must pass the rite of his village to become a full-fledged citizen. In his tribe, they control the power of ice, but Aki is still mastering these magical arts. Fearing the trial might go awry, his brother Yako offers to accompany him. However, a violent
and savage threat descends upon the village, separating the brothers. Alone in the desolate wasteland, Aki forges new alliances with members of different
tribes, each with their own unique powers, who become his new family. Together, they must bravely face the unknown, restore balance, and embark on an epic quest to find Yako.
