Tasia (short for Anastasia), is just one of the millions of women in Spain whom life has squashed like a bulldozer: just five years ago, she was the proud owner of a beauty salon and a fantastic house in the best part of Fuenlabrada... but the construction crisis ruined the family, she was forced to close her business and as a last resort she has had to take a cleaning job while her husband succumbs to depression, alcoholism and violence. Tasia spends the long journeys between her house (with the threat of foreclosure hanging over it) and Plaza de Castilla in Madrid escaping in revenge fantasies about the people responsible for her fall from grace: from bankers and corrupt politicians to her husband, who has become a monster.
