My Father on Fire

The year that my father usurped and drank through my Erasmus year abroad. Miguel’s Erasmus year abroad in Amsterdam is being awesome. Never-ending parties, seven-day benders, and not a book in sight. But it all comes crashing down around his ears when his father, who has been unemployed for a long time and recently separated from Miguel’s mother, runs out of unemployment benefit takes and the worst decision possible: to go to Amsterdam and live off his son’s grant.

From that moment on, Miguel and his father, Jesús Miguel, will have to share a room in the flat that he shares with several other Erasmus students. But it won’t be easy. When his father decides to help Miguel win the heart of the beautiful Marion, a French student, things tumble towards a spectacular ending in which all the tension that has been building is finally released with surprising consequences for them all.
