Synopsis:

A message of love and respect for the elderly in a tender, ironic, but above all human novel about Alzheimer's disease.

Pepita Piquer does not remember that her sister Flora and her friend Anita –who she still talks to all the time—passed away a long time ago. She doesn’t remember that she has four children, and that she no longer works in the candy factory on Calle Trafalgar as she did when she was young. She always insisted that she never wanted to go to a nursing home, but her Alzheimer's reaches a point where her children have no other options.

One of Pepita’s sons is a literature teacher, and the impact of this new situation leads him to write a novel. With delicacy, tenderness and deep humanity, he turns several of the nursing home residents into fascinating literary characters that will surprise readers. With a narrative that exudes irony and humor, he makes tragedy fun while still acknowledging that it’s tragic. He ends up discovering that writing about his mother is also a way for them to spend time together.
