Terra Alta

A terrible crime shocks the peaceful region of Terra Alta: the owners of its largest company, Gráficas Adell, are found murdered after being subjected to horrific torture. The case is handled by Melchor Marín, a young police officer and voracious reader who arrived from Barcelona four years earlier, with a dark past that has made him a legend in the force and which he believes he has buried under his happy life as the husband of the village librarian and father of a girl named Cosette, like the daughter of Jean Valjean, the protagonist of his favourite novel: Les Misérables.

Starting from this event, and through a fast-paced narrative full of memorable characters, this novel becomes a lucid reflection on the value of the law, the possibility of justice and the legitimacy of revenge, but above all the epic story of a man in search of his place in the world.
