Reviews

Maria Mitchel, like Caroline Herschel, was one of the first female astronomers in history at a time when women scientists were unheard of.

Set in a time of great social upheaval, from the end of slavery to the rise of the first university for woman, exploring their role in science and women’s suffrage.

In the middle of the 19th century, the unique strength and tenacity of the astronomer Maria Mitchel changed the course of science and women’s role in it forever.

An amazing story that reveals the surprising and unknown role of hundreds of anonymous women in the greatest astronomical discoveries of our time.
