With no prior experience in high-altitude mountaineering and without the help of guides or porters, Sergi Unanue and his companion embarked on an adventure that few would even dare to imagine: crossing on foot, from east to west, the vast Himalayan range. A 1,700-kilometer journey over 99 days along one of the most challenging routes on the planet—one that only about a hundred people had ever managed to complete.

Carrying only the bare essentials and a single backpack each, they set out on a trek that tested their friendship, their bodies, and their minds to the limit. They climbed passes above 5,000 meters without knowing what lay beyond, braved storms and avalanches, slept in tents surrounded by snow and ice, shared shelter with strangers, and crossed remote villages where communication was impossible.
