THE UNEXPECTED

Some of life's greatest gifts arrive long after we stop waiting for them
Several generations. One shared inheritance of love, loss and
memory.
In The Unexpected, Pedro Simón turns his gaze once again toward ordinary people living extraordinary emotional lives.
Grandparents who have loved each other since childhood.
Parents struggling to hold their families together. Children searching for answers. Grandchildren inheriting stories they barely understand.
Through moments of illness, grief, humour and tenderness, these interconnected lives reveal the quiet heroism that exists within everyday families.
With warmth, compassion and remarkable emotional intelligence, Simón explores the bonds that sustain us through uncertainty and reminds us that even in life's darkest moments, hope often arrives from unexpected places.
A deeply human novel about family, vulnerability and the courage to keep loving despite everything.

Pedro Simón confirms his place as one of the most sensitive and insightful chroniclers of contemporary family life.
