Martina seems to have a stable, ordinary life, but beneath the surface, she feels emotionally paralyzed. At her partner’s urging, she begins therapy and unwittingly embarks on a journey that will take her deep into her family’s past.

Through forgotten archives from one of the largest psychiatric hospitals in the region, Martina uncovers the story of Vera, her great-grandmother, who was confined for decades in a psychiatric hospital.

As Martina pieces together Vera’s life, she is forced to confront her own emotional wounds. Only by bridging the gap between their two worlds can she begin to dismantle the stigma surrounding confinement and mental health.
