
Benito Olmo is a writer from Cádiz, born in 1980. In addition to writing novels, most of which fall within the crime and detective genre, Olmo is the author of audio series such as Desajuste de cuentas and Wonderland.
In Olmo’s literary production, one can find titles like Mil cosas que no te dije antes de perderte (A Thousand Things I Didn't Tell You Before Losing You), La tragedia del girasol (The Tragedy of the Sunflower), Los días felices (The Happy Days), or El Gran Rojo (The Big Red), which won the Novelpol Award for Best Crime Novel Published in 2021. Throughout his career, Olmo’s works have been finalists for awards like the Santa Cruz Prize, the Cartagena Negra Prize, or the Tormo Negro-Masfarné Prize. His novel La maniobra de la tortuga (The Turtle's Maneuver) was recently adapted into a film by Juan Miguel del Castillo.
Tinta y fuego (Ink and Fire) is his most ambitious novel to date, the result of research into the literary plundering carried out by the Nazis, who were responsible for the theft of hundreds of libraries during World War II.
