Javi Rey

Javi Rey is a comic artist who honed his craft at the prestigious Escola Joso in Barcelona. His professional journey began in the realm of independent animation, working as an illustrator at Yanquipay Studio, and he also created storyboards for various advertising agencies. In 2007,
he made his mark by contributing to the collective book Lovexpress. Since then, Rey has collaborated with renowned scriptwriters such as Frank Giroud on the work Adelante and Un Maillot Pour L’Algérie (both published by Éditions Dupuis). One of his notable works is the graphic novel adaptation of Jesús Carrasco’s international bestseller Out in the Open, which earned him the Best New Author Award at the 2017 Barcelona Comic Fair.
