Jesús Fernández Santos

Jesús Fernández Santos debuted as a novelist with The Brave Ones (1954), followed by In the Bonfire (1957), which won the Gabriel Miró Prize, Labyrinths (1964), The Man of the Saints (1969), which won the Critics’ Prize in 1970, and Book of the Memory of Things (1971), awarded with the Nadal Prize. He also was a film critic for El País and made films like Spain, 1800 (1958) and the TV series The Books (1973).
