Retrato de Joaquín Navarro-Valls

Joaquín Navarro-Valls

Joaquín Navarro-Valls was correspondent of the ABC newspaper in Italy (1977-1984) and was elected president of the Foreign Press Association in that country. This is how he met John Paul II, who asked him for advice on how to improve public communication at the Holy See and, shortly after, appointed him director of the Vatican Press Office. Navarro-Valls was papal spokesman for twenty-two years (with John Paul II, between 1984-2005, and with Benedict XVI, between 2005-2006).
