José María Sánchez de Lamadrid

José María Sánchez de Lamadrid was born in Madrid in 1977, into a family of seven siblings in which he was introduced to the faith in a simple and natural way. He discovered his priestly vocation at a young age and was ordained a priest in Alcalá de Henares in 2001. After his first assignments in Torres de la Alameda and Pozuelo del Rey, he became parish priest of Santo Domingo de la Calzada in Algete (Madrid) in 2007.

Since then, together with many others, he has embarked on a journey of parish renewal sustained by prayer. Along the way, the community has learned to listen, acknowledge its mistakes and begin anew. This book was born out of a desire to share, in a simple way, something of what God is doing among us and, above all, from a conviction that has grown stronger over the years: when we make room for God, a parish can become a true family and offer an oasis of mercy. A place where we can all come as we are, with our doubts, questions, wounds and suffering, and learn to walk together.
