Montserrat Villar Martín

MONTSE VILLAR is an astrophysicist and expert in active galaxies and supermassive black holes. She has worked at leading institutions such as the European Southern Observatory (Germany), the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris, and the universities of Sheffield and Hertfordshire (UK), where she also taught. Since 2011, she has been a researcher at the Center for Astrobiology (CSIC–INTA). Committed to science outreach, she coordinated the International Year of Astronomy in Spain (IAU–UNESCO, 2009) and has led projects linking art and science, including the Reflections of the Cosmos
tour at the Prado Museum.
