Víctor García de la Concha

Víctor García de la Concha, professor at the University of Salamanca, has been a full member of the Real Academia Española since 1991. Director of this institution for twelve years (1998-2010) and president at the same time of the Association of Spanish Language Academies, he promoted a pan-Hispanic linguistic policy, which entails the joint work of each on an equal footing. Between 2012 and 2017 he was director of the Instituto Cervantes. Author of an extensive bibliography, Víctor García de la Concha is a specialist in Renaissance literature and the mystical writers of the 16th century, with numerous studies dedicated to St. John of the Cross, Friar Luis de León and St. Teresa.
