Zoé Valdés

Zoé Valdés was born in Havana in 1959 and studied literature there. Between 1983 and 1988 she worked for Unesco in Paris, as a cultural researcher; and spent six months at the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Cuba in the same city. She has published La nada cotidiana (1995), translated into twenty-two languages, La hija del embajador, Te di la vida entera (Finalist in the Planeta Prize, 1996), translated into eleven languages, Café Nostalgia (1997), Querido primer novio (1999), El pie de mi padre (Gallimard, 2000), and Milagro en Miami (2001). Zoe Valdés has been living in exile in Paris since 1995.
