Feral Wolves

Every nineteen years, when the black moon rises, the wolves are not the most dangerous predators in the mountains. 

When a child disappears in the snow-covered mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama, the authorities repeat the explanation they have relied on for over a century: feral wolves, driven by hunger, attacked once again. But Marta Otero, a police academy student, suspects that the truth lies far beyond the forest. 

While researching her final thesis, Marta uncovers a chilling pattern linking the disappearance of children dating back to the late nineteenth century. The cases, all officially attributed to wolf attacks, recur every nineteen years, always during the rare phenomenon of the black moon. As Marta follows the trail left by her late father, a former police inspector, she begins to uncover evidence of ritualised crimes, falsified autopsies, and a clandestine network protected by power, silence, and fear. 

As the countdown to the next black moon begins, Marta and a small group of allies race against time to save a missing boy and expose a sect that has operated in the shadows for generations—sacrificing the most vulnerable in exchange for the health and longevity of the elite.
