The Fire Manuscript
Synopsis:
Who killed the only man who knew how to make Emperor Charles V laugh, the only one who dared to tell him the truth?
Béjar, February 2, 1532. Don Francés de Zuñiga, former clown to Emperor Charles V, is stabbed in the middle of the night by unknown men. The empress entrusts the investigation of the case to Fernando de Rojas, who is almost sixty years old. In the course of his work, we will come to know the controversial, irreverent life of Don Francés, as well as the ins and outs of an era as fascinating as it is scandalous.
To find the solution, Rojas will rely on the help of Alonso, a young student, and together, they will face numerous obstacles and challenges, from trying to locate a mysterious manuscript to deciphering one of the most enigmatic works of European art and architecture: the façade of the University of Salamanca.
