Synopsis:

The portrait of a memorable quest of a handful of men to take over an empire.

On the fifth centenary of the conquest of the Incan empire, Juan Pedro Cosano presents a novel with a little known episode from these epic events: the adventure of Gonzalo Pizarro, younger brother of Francisco and an illegitimate son, like him, who accompanied him on his expedition to America in 1531 at the beginning of the conquest of Peru.

After the brutal murder of the conquistador Pizarro by a group of Spaniards close to Diego de Almagro in 1541, Gonzalo took the lead of a rebel faction that faced off against the crown and attempted to take for itself the rich Inca territories they had just subjugated. This story is told from the point of view of his lover, Lady Nayaraq (whose name in Quechua means “the one with many desires”), witness to the end of an era and the birth of a new world.
