Barcelona, May 1888. Just days before the inauguration of the country's first Universal Exposition, the horribly mutilated bodies of several young women are found. Their wounds bear a striking resemblance to an ancient curse long forgotten by the city.
Daniel Amat, a young professor living in Oxford, receives the news of his father's death, which forces him to return to Barcelona after years of absence. From that moment on, he will be drawn into the pursuit of a ruthless killer while facing the consequences of his own past.
Bernat Fleixa, a reporter for Correo de Barcelona, whose only goal is to get a story that will make him famous, and Pau Gilbert, a mysterious medical student hiding a secret, will join Amat in search of an ancient anatomical manuscript that could change the course of history and is the killer's primary target.
