
Juana Cortés Amunarraiz holds a degree in Philosophy and is an author of short stories, novels, and children’s and young adult literature. She lives in Madrid, where she began her literary career in 2004. She has received various awards for her short stories, including the Second Hucha de Oro Prize, the Gaceta de Salamanca, the Tomás Fermín de Arteta Short Story Prize, the Leopoldo Alas Clarín, the Ignacio Aldecoa, and the Tiflos Short Story Prize. Among her notable novels are Las sombras (Tiflos Prize 2015) and Los ausentes (Espasa, 2021).
