Vega and McCoy are private investigators of the paranormal who are now barely scraping by. Their cases have turned into one disaster after another, leaving them disillusioned and questioning if their so-called "gift" is nothing more than blind luck and bad judgment.

Just as they’re ready to throw in the towel and trade ghosthunting for something as mundane as a desk job, Patricia Soldekund shows up at their office. She’s the heir to a dynasty that has long run a grand hotel in the mountains: the Miramar.

The Miramar, she claims, is cursed. Blood seeps from the walls, crockery flies across rooms, and her once-gifted chef has lost all sense of taste—literally. But there’s something about her story that doesn’t add up. Vega’s instinct screams scam, but McCoy, ever the optimist, convinces her to take on "just one more case."

This will be their last chance to solve a real mystery or leave it all behind for good and find a "real" job.
